I wanted to be a part of a club that embraced and promoted my culture, as well as meet people with a similar cultural background as myself. I enjoy being a part of this club becauase it gaives me a chance to share & educate others about Hong Kong. I aim to breakdown any cultural stigma and stereotypes associated with Hong Kong, and hopefully this can be achieved through hosting our events.

I joined QHKSA because my friend grabbed me and dragged me to the QHKSA booth during my second year at Queen's. Then she forced me to apply for an exec position. But I'm glad I joined QHKSA.

Back in first year, I joined QHKSA in hopes of meeting new people to make my transition into university a little easier. Fast-foward 2 years later, I never would have thought that I would meet some of the most amazing people and develop the weirdest friendships through QHKSA. It gives me a sense of home away from home.

I like QHKSA because HK food is yummy :^) and there are great people on the exec team I get to work with to pormote the culture and the yummy food.

I joined QHKSA because I wanted to help promote cultural awareness. I like it because everybody is great and we have a lot of fun.

QHKSA is like my second family in Canada. Our similar Canton cultural background bonds us together. I joined it when I was in first year, for I wanted to meet someone who has a mutual cultural background like mine.
First Year Arts & Sciences
When I left my home Hong Kong to come to Queen's, I didn't realise it had a Hong Kong community before I joined. So, of course when I realised there was a Hong Kong club, I had to sign up and join as an exec. Having lived in Hong Kong my whole life, I realised that by joining the club I'll have an opportunity to share my culture with others here.
I like being a part of the club because it really brings people who have cmmonalities in their background together no matter what faculty and year they are in. It has now become like my family in Canada.

The reason I joined this club is that it makes me feel like this is my second family here at Queen's, in Canada. I was so fascinated by the harmonious atmosphere we have in this club, and I am very lucky to meet all of the amazing people in QHKSA.

Queen's Hong Kong Student's Association first caught my eye when I was at this year's (2017) side-walk sale. As a minority at Queen's, it was heart-warming to know that there is someone on campus who also shares a similar culture and background as me. Talking to one of the reps at the side-walk sale made me feel like I was right back at home! Hence, I decided to join QHKSA!
First Year Arts & Sciences
I want to share my hometown's culture to everyone at Queen's and I believed that being an exec of QHKSA can help me to achieve that. In diferent aspects of cultures, I want to share our food to others and allow them to taste all the amazing local food that we have in Hong Kong.

I was ultimately tricked into becoming an exec by my good friend and co-chair Kyra Lee.
1. Discounts on food means I have even more reason not to cook or eat healthy
2. I can interact with wonderfully beautiful peopleof the same culture other than myself.
3. I can tell my mom that she was right when she said I was special.
4. I can help contribute to a cause that promotes and spreads the incredible culture of Hong Kong, while working with an amazing group of people to achieve our ultimate goal: campus-wide domination.
